      ADVANCING ORAL HEALTH WORLDWIDE

Dear IADR Division and non-Divisional Section Officers:

Thank you for your 2012 candidates who competed in the 2012 IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition and Awards in Iguacu Falls, Brazil. You can find the names and photos of the six winners on the award Web pages indicated below.

It is time now to plan for the 2013 awards! Please read this memo and the Web pages carefully and save for future reference.

      • The award is available to IADR non-Divisional Sections, as well as IADR Divisions, IF a competition is held and candidates are selected.
      • Unilever Oral Care is generously supporting each Hatton Award competitor¡¯s round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for four (4) nights, as well as the meeting registration fee.
      • All candidates must be members of the IADR.
      • Unilever Oral Care is awarding prize money to the six winners of the Hatton Awards Competition: $1600 for 1st place winners and $800 for 2nd place winners.

The IADR/Unilever Hatton Divisional Award is available for the IADR/AADR/CADR General Session & Exhibition in Seattle, Washington, USA, March 20-23, 2013. More details can be found on the IADR Web site at IADR/Unilever Hatton Divisional Award and the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition and Awards.

The IADR Global Headquarters will make all travel arrangements for the candidates and, therefore, no funds will be sent to the Divisions or Sections.

Each Division and non-Divisional Section is entitled to select a designated number of candidates to compete in the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition that will take place at the next IADR General Session & Exhibition in Seattle, Washington, USA. The number of candidates each Division may select to participate is determined by Divisional membership (the formula for which is below). Each IADR Section may select one (1) qualified candidate upon successful completion of a non-Divisional Section competition.

*IADR Division and non-Divisional Section officers are notified of this award each year and will set up a competition with appropriate standards for a Division/non-Divisional Section Award. The successful candidate(s) must be in a position to attend the IADR General Session & Exhibition and compete in the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition and Awards. The criteria for entry to the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition will, therefore, apply to the Division/non-Divisional Section competition.

The exact name of each Division/non-Divisional Section award competition must be the ¡° IADR/Unilever Divisional Award .¡±

Each of the candidates selected by the Division or non-Divisional Section must submit an abstract for the 2013 IADR General Session & Exhibition and apply for the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition and Awards. The
